Nevertheless, I unplugged the unit, removed the microSD card and upon power up all worked as normal. But instead, my microSD card was not sticking out at all. Upon power up, it had the same symptoms as you’ve mentioned - 80 seconds of the wagging U with jingle, rinse and repeat.įinally I found your instructions which worked. In my case my wife had unplugged the power to punish the kids, only to ultimately punish herself when it would not get past the boot screen the next day. With a few exceptions as noted below, your procedure got my Roku 4 up and running again after 3 days of WTF. I was very surprised the tech support didn't mention it at all, but I guess it's not that surprising that they'd recommend a new one. So if you have the tiring reboots issue, and nothing seems to work, check to make sure that there isn't a problem with a memory card. Then I shut it off, inserted the card fully, and it was formatted. So I removed it, rebooted, and it worked fine. I didn't even remember that I had one in. Then I noticed that the microSD card seemed to be sticking out. When I hung up, I started taking a closer look at the device, to see what would happen if I chucked it against the fireplace. Finally, tech support told me I was done and needed a new one. Unplugging did nothing, hard reset didn't seem to work, changing HDMI ports didn't work. It would show up for about 80 seconds, then reboot itself and start all over. The problem is that the device would never get out of the boot screen, with the wagging U, and the imperfectly looped jingle. Not sure how this works for other models. Had a frustrating experience with my Roku 4 last night, but was able to find a solution.
